Hello,

Summer is here and we will be enjoying the warmer weather and sun. Summer always brings so much energy , longer days; and more time. This is a great time to take stock of your business performance and make adjustments if needed. To help you get started; we are here to provide some thought provoking insights about ways to boost your business performance and help you create businesses that are profitable, and successful.

Need to Boost your Business Performance ?

After several months or years in business it is not uncommon to take a step back and assess your business performance. What areas do you need to examine? What steps or plans may help you? Here is some practical advice you can put to use immediately to boost your business performance.

Direction and Goals. Are you where you want to be? If not, what do you need to do to get there? Start by re-evaluting your business plan and goals. Follow the SMART goal guidlines. According to these SMART guidelines goals should be:

  • S - Specific
  • M - Measurable
  • A - Attainable
  • R - Realistic and Relevant
  • T - Timebound

Growth. Is your business growth stunted? If it is; ask yourself why? What is stunting the growth? How do you embrace change? Do you create and welcome opportunities to develop yourself and to grow your business? Take a look at your business measurements such as sales, customers, vendors (measurements should follow SMART guidelines). Are these measurements in line with your business plan? Investigate:

  • Trends -- both economic and consumer for indications of your company's staying power.
  • Ideas -- for diversifying your product or service line if need be.
  • Current Market -- Is it serving you well? Are there other markets out there?

Effective Time Management. How well do you manage your time? Are you a procrastinator? Do you delegate tasks? It is well known that time is money and money is time and no business owner can afford to waste either.

First in learning how to manage time effectively is being able to distinguish between what is urgent and the importance of a task. Start by defining these terms. Urgent tasks require immediate action. Important tasks contribute to results and the attainment of high priority goals.

Planning, prioritizing and delegating tasks helps you to effectively schedule your time around the tasks that are most important and generate the greatest results.
